
Looking for candidate with Bachelor's Degree - engineering, 7-15 years manufacturing/chemical industry, lean manufacturing, six sigma/black belt, project management, zero defects, continuous improvement, Kaizen, etc.
This position is responsible for leading site continuous improvement efforts. Ensuring a sustainable continuous improvement (CI) culture and programs are in place to drive gains in customer satisfaction, profitability and promote employee engagement. The engineer must be knowledgeable in Lean mfg and management methods along with problem solving techniques Kaizen, PDCA, 8D and DMAIC.
Job Responsibilities:
• Executes CI improvement Lean 6 sigma projects for the site.
• Leads Lean 6 sigma projects thru teams
• Delivers to efficiency and quality improvement targets
• Coaches and Trains Site Kaizen and Project Teams
o Problem solving techniques, Lean mfg. and 6 sigma tools
o Statistical Analysis techniques
o DoE
• Ensures site projects are being driven (on time & target to deliver gains)
• Participates in VSM and Opportunity Analysis work
• Leads VSM and Opportunity Analysis work
• Implements Best Practice from other sites and other CI programs
• Works with Global EE team to develop and implement CI strategy
• Works with Plant Manager to integrate CI program and work into site plans
• Leads reviews and reporting of CI work site work
• Demonstrates successful use in Lean, 6 sigma and Theory of Constraint concepts, methods and tools by delivering significant gains in GP, cost reduction and improvement quality metrics
• Fullest support on safety initiatives
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Chemical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
7+ years experience in manufacturing / chemical industry
Min. 5 years of implementing Lean Mfg methods
Black Belt in 6 sigma with 5 years demonstrated success in 6 sigma project work
Competent in Project Management, proven ability of starting a project and seeing it through to completion
Well versed in Manufacturing Process and Quality
Problem solver with an open and analytical mindset
Self starter, able to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills
Excellent presentation and relationship-building skills
Knowledge and experience in using SAP and Utilise preferred.
