Advanced Technology Engineer - Cooper Tire - Findlay, OH



Looking for a candidate with a degree in engineering and 5-10+ years experience in product development - TIRE industry a MUST! Nanomaterials, FEA (finite element analysis), tire construction, leadership, project management, tire design.

Actively seeking an experienced tire engineer (mechanical, chemical, materials, chemist) for employment opportunity in the area of developing new innovative tire technology. This position requires the ability to collaborate with others in the pursuit of new & advanced tire concepts for industrialization. The work environment includes both in-house and co-development type research programs that will lead to industrialization of new technology.Leads or directs development of new technologies involving but not limited to constructions, manufacturing process, test methods, and materials, so as to enhance tire performance and/or improve manufacturing efficiency.

Requirements
BS Degree required; Master's Degree or PhD preferred.
Must have tire experience.
Preferred candidate will have experience with open innovation or joint ventures.

The Applicant must have excellent project management skills, leadership ability, and tire development experience and should have practical knowledge in the following areas: mechanical property relationships, structural mechanics, FEA, product development and manufacturing. Must also have the ability to travel both domestically and internationally. Typical duties would include: represents Cooper's interests in appropriate industry, governmental, and educational groups.
Assesses new technology potential through research publications, technical literature, conferences, universities, patents, suppliers,and monitoring outside research/development activities of other companies.
Mentoring others in his or her expertise.
May co-develop innovative technology through Joint Development Agreements (JDA) with other companies and/or universities.
Validate new technologies through tire test programs and/or manufacturing trials.
Write patents for new technologies developed.
