
Looking for candidate with BS - chemistry/chemical engineering, process engineering, just 2-3 years experience with room to grow, root-cause analysis, OSHA process safety management, productivity/process improvement, lean or six sigma, etc.
The Carol Stream Plant Process Engineer is responsible for providing process engineering support and project management for the improvement of all batch processing operations including Safety, Health, Environmental, and Sustainability initiatives.
Job Responsibilities:
• Works with cross functional teams including Business, Manufacturing, Technical, Engineering, Logistics, and Accounting on new product introductions, process scale up, and commercialization.
• Works with cross functional teams to identify, initiate, and manage process improvement projects.
• Responsible for investigating root cause and determining and implementing corrective actions for problem batches.
• Responsible for leading productivity and quality improvement initiatives for products on site by using Lean, Six Sigma or other problem solving techniques.
• Supports manufacturing, maintenance operations and systems with process studies, recommendations, and design.
• Must be willing and able to work on the production floor and interact with hourly associates.
• Leads, participates, contributes and supports all plant Safety, Health, Environmental, Quality, and Sustainability initiatives.
• Must be willing and able to work 2nd and 3rd shift as needed to monitor batch production.
• Manages the HPM (Henkel Product Management) System for the Carol Stream facility.
Minimum Requirements:
- BS Degree Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
- 2+ years in the Adhesives/Sealants or batch chemical process environment
- OSHA Process Safety Management experience
- Ability to multi task effectively
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Data analysis skills
- Lean or Six Sigma experience
