Statcom Sales Engineer - Converter Products - Power Electronics, New Berlin, WI



Looking for candidate with Bachelor's, 7+ years experience, sales engineering/management - utilities, static compensation, reactive power compensation, FACTS (flexible AC transmission system), D-VAR, wind, windfarm, inverter, converter, electrical grid, power electronics experience.

General Information:
JOB PURPOSE & REPORTING STRUCTURE:
Reporting to the Sales Manager for Converter Products (CP), Power Electronics, the Statcom Sales Engineer pursues sales in the N. American market for the assigned products, systems and services. The Sales Engineer establishes focused pursuit strategies to secure established order volumes and
margin requirements. He/She identifies and evaluates product and project opportunities,
prepares proposals, and leads the sales pursuit.

Tasks:
• Travels globally to interface with customers and vendors as required. Requires
ability to attain any needs travel credentials.
Requirements: EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in engineering,
business or related field and 5-7 years of related experience required. Utility sales
experience is a plus.
Additional Information: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the
following for all areas of specialization. Other duties may be assigned.
• Knowledge or ability to learn the applicable Converter Products (CP), power
electronics platforms, products, systems and services.
• Generates sales for products, systems and services throughout the N. American
region for Statcoms. Plays a significant role in developing sales strategies, plans and
forecasts.
• Increases market visibility and penetration through aggressive prospecting and
expanding existing business relationships to secure forecasted sales.
• Reviews RFQ’s and leads coordination of all sales pursuit elements including
Commercial, Technical, Schedule, Legal to secure orders within acceptable guidelines.
• Generate sales pursuit documents (internal and external) including but not limited to
technical and commercial customer proposals, full cost model, risk-review and project
hand-off documentation.
• Ensure all required approvals are obtained in full accordance with established
company procedures at proposal submittal and prior to order acceptance.
• Maintain technical competency and remain current in changes in the industry.
• Coordinate and participate in industry events, trade shows, presentations,
development of whitepapers, marketing materials, etc.
• Business travel approximately 30-50% on average, business conditions may dictate
more or less travel. Performing the above activities efficiently during flexible work hours and
during business travel.
