Project Manager - Logistics, Kohler, WI

Seeking a project manager with strong technical acumen, implementing solutions in supply chain and/or manufacturing.

As a Project Manager - Logistics, this is your unique opportunity to set your mark and live on the leading edge. Reporting to the Director – Logistics, responsibilities include the management of all projects relating to the Americas network of distribution centers and supporting functions.  This position may manage these projects in coordination with the network’s 3PL partners, consultants, outside integration firms and others.  Project focus will be on process improvement, cost reduction, implementation of new technologies, improved customer service/experience and response to a changing marketplace or customer requirements.
 

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
  • Lead or assist projects that result in improved processes, lower costs, improved ability to serve Kohler customers, infrastructure improvement and technology advancements.
  • Achieve project deliverables on time, on quality and within budget.
  • Work with 3PL partners and their respective logistics engineers in identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives.
  • Work with external consultants as necessary to participate in benchmarking studies, focused areas for improvement and general assessment.
  • Lead projects that support the Logistics network strategy including the addition of new distribution facilities either company-run or operated by 3PLs.
  • Lead projects in conjunction with I.T. that will include the implementation of Tier 1 WMS and TMS systems.
  • Owns the project plan, scope and budget.
  • Insures operational execution and change management activities are met.
  • Travels to field units to provide project leadership support when necessary.
  • Provides frequent status updates to management and steering committee members.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - WHAT YOU NEED TO QUALIFY
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Engineering, Supply Chain or Project Management.
  • 5 years of experience managing projects in a logistics environment with a focus in implementing solutions. Experience using technical solutions to manage projects efficiently.
  • Must have a strong technical acumen and experience working with WMS, TMS and ERP systems – preferably SAP.
  • Must possess excellent abilities to work in team environments and with a wide range of associates at different levels within the organization. 
  • Great organizational and follow up skills.  Detail-oriented.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed ability to take action in solving problems while exhibiting judgment and a systematic approach to decision-making.
  • Ability to understand both business processes and IT processes allowing the ability to effectively understand and communicate needs and issues to both groups.

• Attend and participate in Company sales meetings and trade or industry meetings, shows and conventions to increase knowledge of Kohler Co. plumbing products, improve selling techniques and cultivate good working relationships with accounts and product users.
• Prepare various correspondence, reports and forms related to daily activities, expenses, claims, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) entry, etc.
• Manage pricing programs in territory/account according to established company policies and procedures.
