Architect, Showroom Design - Kohler, WI

Seeking candidate with Bachelor's degree - Architecture, proficiency in AutoCAD, prefer Revit, 3+ years project management, working with contractors and vendors in construction, participating in design and selection of interior finishes, prefer some retail projects.

This position is responsible for showroom architectural designs in support of projects involving new construction, facility renovation and refreshing of existing merchandise. The primary project focus is on Premier Showroom Design. The primary responsibilities include Interior space planning, Kohler product specification, project cost estimating, interior finish specifications, scheduling, construction supervision and coordination.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
Consulting
  • Investigate project needs to define direction of effort, via phone interview of customer.
  • Provide appropriate personnel with preliminary solutions and estimates of costs.
  • Prepare detailed drawings, prepare specifications and obtain bids.
  • Write reports to summarize design developed and costs proposed.
  • Prepare graphic representation for specified project.


Technical
  • Use professionally acceptable design practices to obtain all data required; recommend solutions.
  • Coordinate efforts with other personnel in Communications and Marketing to complete multi-disciplined projects.
  • Direct activities of personnel assigned to assist with layout and detail drafting of designs. Alternatively prepare CAD documents individually.
  • Maintain records of projects assigned. Maintain files of information and calculations related to Showroom designs.


Construction and Installation
  • Consult with Showroom manager about construction efforts in order to complete projects in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Verify completeness and accuracy of record prints.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - WHAT YOU NEED TO QUALIFY
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture.
  • 3+ years of professional experience working in architecture, managing small projects and managing through construction
  • Must be a Licensed Architect, NCARB or AIA (Registered in the state of Wisconsin nice to have, but not required.)
  • Strong technically savvy with a proficiency in MS Office programs.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD required. Proficiency with Revit preferred. Photoshop, MS Project experience nice to have
  • Proven experience with selecting interior finishes and participating in the design side of projects.
  • ASID/NCDIQ nice to have.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS – HOW YOU CAN STAND OUT
  • Previous experience working directly with clients, as well as managing contractors and vendors.
  • Previous experience managing retail projects through construction is preferred.
