Supply Chain Analyst - Kohler Engines

Seeking local candidate with Bachelor's degree and supply chain/operations, ERP/MRP experience, and strong project management skills.

Supply Chain Analyst responsibilities include analysis required to support Supply Chain network design strategic initiatives, which will include the incorporation of various logistics and distribution alternatives and allow the ability to recommend operation change to enable a highly cost-effective, customer-focused physical network. This associate will also conduct analysis necessary to support regular supply chain network design improvements. Responsibilities will also include network modeling, general project support and general departmental analytical support.
 
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
  • Perform analytical work supporting the Manager-Supply Chain related to the implementation and execution of Kohler Co.’s long-term Supply Chain network strategy. Analysis will require collaboration with various associates throughout the Supply Chain organization to include all known and potential locations, strategies, warehousing requirements, transportation options and customer requirements.
  • Support the analysis for projects related to new and on-going enhancements to the physical supply chain network, including the investigation of alternative distribution options intended to improve processes, lower transportation expenses and improve service levels.
  • Conduct analysis enabling the ability to make decisions that support the on-going maintenance of the supply chain network, mainly via requested changes to CMIR’s (Customer Master Information Records).
  • Perform ad hoc analysis required to evaluate, plan and implement design and supply chain projects.
  • Audit effectiveness and sustainability of network improvement initiatives. Validate savings identified versus actual savings achieved.
  • Maintain and analyze the weekly Schedule Adherence report by manufacturing location for all products in the Master Production Schedule and publish to Materials and Manufacturing management.

Supervisory Relationships:
  • Reports to Manager- Sales & Operation Planning

Organization Relationships:
  • Has contact with all levels of Engines Management.
  • Has frequent contact with Operations, Warehousing, Purchasing, Materials, Customer Service, Sales, Systems, Accounting, Marketing, New Product Development, and Quality Control.

External Business Relationships:
  • Has occasional contact with external vendors, consultants, material suppliers and customers.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - WHAT YOU NEED TO QUALIFY
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Supply Chain or Materials/Logistics Management.
  • Minimum of two years experience required in operations and supply planning.
  • Minimum of two years experience in the use of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
  • High analytical skills and proficiency with spreadsheets and database tools.
  • Very strong communication skills, leadership, and facilitation skills.

SKILL PREFERENCES – HOW YOU CAN STAND OUT
  • An understanding of the Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) model and its application.
  • Working knowledge of push and pull systems, lean principles, and applicable manufacturing processes.
  • Statistical tools in their application of demand and supply planning.
  • APICS course work.

Electronics Manufacturing Engineer - Kohler Power

Seeking manufacturing professional with ABET accredited degree and 3 or more years of experience supporting circuit board/controller manufacturing process. Prefer C+, CAD, Visual Basic, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, SPC, SMT (surface mount technology), wave solder, conformal coating experience.
 
Under the direction of the Supervisor-Electronics, the Electronics Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for learning the production processes in assigned areas, and the completion of productivity, continuous improvement, and cost reduction projects in their assigned areas. Responsibilities will also include implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles, introduction of New Product, and execution of Capital Projects in their assigned areas. This position is responsible for process engineering of circuit board and controller manufacturing and will spend approximately 75% of their time on the manufacturing floor.


HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
  • Manufacturing floor support for circuit board and controller manufacturing processes. Process responsibility for SMT lines, Insertion equipment, Wave Solder, and Conformal Coating. Also process responsibility for HLA (higher level assembly) of Controllers.
  • Champion continuous improvement (KOS events/workshops) and Cost Reductions efforts in the area of responsibility to constantly improve the process and lower the cost.
  • Implement Capital projects throughout departments. Work closely with shop personnel, Marketing, and Design Engineering to determine the manufacturing needs for equipment and systems.
  • Coordinate introductions of new products to production. Work closely with Design Engineering, Marketing, and the production floor to effectively implement new products into production. Establish shop routings for all new products and engineering specials. Evaluate capacity requirements to ensure production capability of manufacturing new products.
  • Analyze operations and sequence of operations to assure full utilization and maximum quality from present equipment. Answer and respond to inquiries related to the assembly processes.
  • Maintain routings for operations required and set incentive standards for areas of responsibility.
  • Monitor production builds. This involves working closely with Production Foreman, Supervisors, and Design Engineers to ensure productions problems are resolved.
  • Provide technical support and monitor critical processes in the department.
  • Provide required support for ISO 9001. Work closely with ISO coordinating team and production employees to ensure compliance to ISO 9001 standards. Follow procedures established for Manufacturing Engineering to execute design changes, implementation of procedures and reference documents, and all documented responsibilities of Process Engineering.
  • Monitor new technical developments for possible applications in the department.

Supervisory Relationships:
  • Reports to the Supvr-Electronics.

Organizational Relationships:
  • Frequent contact with Design Engineering personnel to coordinate project direction and timing.
  • Frequent contact with Production Scheduling, Supervisors, and Engineering Technicians to troubleshoot and address production issues.
  • Frequent contact with Production Supervisors and employees to formulate area layouts, process changes, and new equipment requirements.
  • Frequent contact with Marketing/Sales departments to coordinate projects on the production floor.
  • Frequent contact with Maintenance department to maintain and improve existing machinery and equipment used in production processes.
  • Frequent contact with Quality Engineering to maintain and improve quality procedures and ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Occasional communication with Purchasing for equipment quotations and to issue binding purchasing contracts.







External Business Relationships:
  • Frequent contact with mechanical, electrical, and HVAC vendors for quotations and project installations.
  • Frequent contact with tooling and equipment suppliers for recommendations, quotations, and installations.

 


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - WHAT YOU NEED TO QUALIFY
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering from an ABET accredited program is required. 3 plus year’s experience in circuit board manufacturing desired.
  • Experience with SMT equipment, wave solder, and conformal coating desired.
  • Computer skills: Comfortable with hardware installation and software configuration.
  • C+, CAD, Labview, Visual Basic experience is a plus.
  • Training in Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, Lean manufacturing, and SPC are desired.
  • Strong communication skills, sense of urgency, and initiative are required.

Software Development Manager - Kohler Power Systems - Wisconsin

Seeking IT software development professional with BS or MS degree, 10+ years software product development experience and 5+ years supervisor and project management experience. Proficient in one or more: C, C++, C#, Java, Structure text. Candidate will be leading the Kohler Power Systems engineering software organization.

The Software Development Manager is responsible for leading the KPS engineering software organization. This position is responsible for creating a cohesive, synergistic team that generates and executes the methodologies, analysis, policies, procedures, and planning of software development programs and generates a roadmap for growth through talent development, innovative products and the implementation of new technologies.

HOW YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE
  • Lead software engineering teams to meet overall business objectives for software product development, innovation, service, and maintenance. Use business knowledge to communicate priorities, decision making, and problem resolution.
  • Manage the development of communication networks (Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP/IP) within the paralleling switchgear that support the communication protocols required to communicate to the PLC’s, HMI, Engine Controls and other third party devices.

WHAT YOU NEED TO QUALIFY
  • B.S. / M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Knowledge in the following: Software development processes (e.g. Agile), software version control, object-oriented programming, Embedded software, PC software, Server Software, Mobile software, Communications protocols (e.g. RS-485, Modbus, J1939, TCP/IP), Cloud Hosting, Graphics design software.
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following C, C++, C#, Java, and Structured Text
  • Ability to lead and complete multiple projects in a timely fashion.
  • 10 years of software product development experience; and 5 years of supervisory and project management experience
